Relief, Beyond Just Belief

balanced view on the Practice of Chiropractic

Chiropractic is not a faith or a religion. It is an art
and a science. It is the art of caring for those in
need coupled with the science of the spine.
Chiropractic is the largest form of alternative care in
the nation. Chiropractic has become more evidence based
in recent years. As a result, it has gained wide
acceptance by most of the governmental health systems,
worker’s compensation and insurance companies.
Some of
the common complaints that chiropractic medicine helps
are back and neck pain, sciatica, headaches, dizziness,
arm and shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and knee
and foot pain.
As a
Chiropractor, I sometimes hear people say “I don’t
believe in chiropractors”, or that “My doctor doesn’t
believe in chiropractic”. While this gap of
misunderstanding has narrowed considerably in recent
years, it is worth noting that some people retain the
notion that somehow Chiropractic has to do with beliefs;
and in the absence of that ‘belief” denying themselves
one of the safest, most powerful, non-invasive
treatments for pain.
While
some degree of misunderstanding and competitive rivalry
still exists between medical doctors and chiropractors,
the gulf of distrust has mostly narrowed. The forces of
integration exist not just in community practices, but
also in the most prestigious institutions of medicine
including the National Institute of Health, Harvard
Medical School and Johns Hopkins University.
It is
vital for today’s health care providers to learn to work
with each other based on outcome instead of
preconceptions. Chiropractic is not all that a patient
will ever need - no discipline can offer that. But when
placed side by side with medications, injections,
physical therapy and surgery, its importance… and
benefit, are deservingly obvious.
If you
or your medical doctor still holds on to 'Chiropractic'
as a belief, you just might be missing some of the best
treatments available. This false belief may just
be the impediment to you getting the help you need.
Working
at Paincare Medical Group, along-side medical doctors
and nurses, has been a great personal experience. The
results and patient-satisfaction levels speak for
themselves.
Isn’t it
wonderful how the world progresses forward?
Instead of continued suffering, consider getting some
relief beyond just belief.
